In response to the recent incident in the Parliament, Kolkata Police is on high alert and taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of the city. Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal emphasized that Kolkata is the safest city in the country, and the police will not compromise on its security.
Speaking on the occasion of the website launch of Kolkata Police SDSL Marathon at Police Headquarters Lalbazar on Friday, Commissioner Goyal assured the public that the police are closely monitoring developments related to the Parliament incident and the security of the Assembly.
Commissioner Goyal highlighted the importance of coordination with the Assembly Speaker and the formulation of a strategic security plan. He said, Kolkata Police is in constant touch with the Speaker, ensuring a collaborative effort to enhance security and prevent any potential threats in the near future.
He highlighted the city's intelligence system's efficiency and the proactive approach in learning from incidents nationwide.
